WENDY R. JACOBSEN

Wendy is licensed as an LMFT in Alabama and California. Wendy graduated from Biola University with a B.A. in Humanities with a Philosophy emphasis. She went on to earn her Masters in Counseling from Palo Alto University. Wendy spent three years in a public elementary school in Palo Alto, providing therapy to children from a wide variety of socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. She has also worked with with couples and in community mental health with people of all ages. She is a Level 1 trained PACT therapist.

Wendy’s therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, humanistic, and multicultural. She spent over three years of her life living outside the U.S., including Jordan, Kazakhstan, and Turkey, which allowed her the opportunity to see the world through the eyes of people different than herself.

Therapeutic modalities she utilizes are evidence-based and incorporated as determined by the client’s needs. These include trauma-focused CBT, psychobiological approach to couples therapy (PACT), somatic mindfulness, play therapy, and attachment-based therapy.
