
The program honors small, medium, and large businesses, nonprofit organizations/public agencies, and community leaders in the River Region that stand apart in their dedication to the highest ethical standards in their approach to their clients and their workplace
2019 Award Recipients were:
Small Business – Montgomery Multisport
Medium Business – AirNow Cooling and Heating
Large Business – First Community Bank of Central Alabama
Non-Profit – Hope Inspired Ministries
Maury Smith Award – Major Todd Strange
Process:
Nominations are received from the community-businesses and the general public.
Under the supervision of faculty, AUM business and public administration graduate students conduct research probing the ethical policies and practices of nominees in each of categories: small, medium, and large business, and non-profit organizations. An independent selection committee made up of community leaders reviews the final academic reports and designates three (3) finalists and award winners in each category
Purpose:
- Foster a climate of ethical integrity in the community by recognizing ethical practices of businesses, organizations, and individuals
- Promote awareness and education concerning ethical business and public service behavior
- Heighten awareness regarding programs and services of The Samaritan Counseling Center available to strengthen families and organizations
- To support the healing work of The Samaritan Counseling Center, Inc. and to fund scholarships for AUM business and public administration students
